Seattle - Fourth of July Weekend
July, 2002
Friday

Friday was a busy day. We went to breakfast at Salish Lodge with Eda and Glen, took Eda's dogs on a walk, visited my father's brother, Keith, and his two children, and met up with friends at the Gameworks Arcade in downtown Seattle at night.

Eda and Glen in front of the Salish Lodge at Snoqualmie Falls. The Lodge has incredibly good breakfasts, and their dining room window looks out over the rainbows and spray of the falls. We try to go there whenever we are in Seattle.

Stacy and Neil, also in front of Salish Lodge. This photo is a little blurry, but it's the only picture that we have of the two of us together on this trip, since Stacy usually is the photographer.

After returning from the Lodge, Eda, Neil and I took Eda's two Alaskan Huskies, Winter and Cooler on a walk around the Newcastle neighborhood. It was a beautiful day. Here we see Neil with the very shy girl-dog, Cooler. A wide-angle shot of a portion of our walk.
Eda and Neil with Winter and Cooler. I like this photo. Winter is the doggie in front; Cooler is hiding behind Eda's leg. We came to an open field and Neil made Cooler very happy by running with her for a while.
Neil in Eda's gorgeous garden in her backyard. Later than afternoon, Neil and I drove to my Uncle Keith's house in Woodenville.
Keith is carrying his talking parrot, Ricco, out of the house. That's my cousin Ashley hiding in the doorway. From left to right, that's my cousin Conner, Uncle Keith, cousin Ashley, and Neil. We are at a really good Italian restaurant in downtown Seattle. Conner is hiding behind a tear-off fortune that they gave us at the end of dinner.
After dinner, we met up with Soula, Kevin and Kirby at the Gameworks Arcade. It was a pretty cool place. Here are Kevin and Kirby playing a racing game while Soula smiles for the camera. Another shot of the racing game, except that you can see Neil off to the right in this one.
Near the end of the evening, Kirby and Kevin played a silly firefighting game. Kevin was way too excited about pretending to shoot Kirby with the hose.
